About Us Our History

Adler International Learning Inc. (formerly the Adler School of Professional Coaching) was founded by Dr. Linda Page, President of Adler Professional Schools in Toronto. In 1998 Dr. Page, appointed a Task Force to determine what kind of program might respond to the increasingly articulated interest in applying an Adlerian approach to the business world. The Task Force determined that the developing field of executive and workplace coaching was the most promising umbrella under which to provide this training.

Led by Melinda Sinclair and a group of the founding faculty, a pilot Workplace Coaching Certificate project ran from September 1998 to September 1999, with a first cohort of fifteen participants. Based on the success of that program, the curriculum was refined and focused to become what it is today – a constantly evolving professional coaching program that is at the leading edge in coaching education.

Within a short period of time it became clear that an independent governing body would best serve the program. Accordingly, in August of 2001, a new corporation named Adler School of Professional Coaching Inc. (ASPC) was organized under the leadership of President Linda J. Page. A Board of Directors was appointed to direct the future development of the school and its programs.

At the same time the school went through the rigorous process of gaining International Coach Federation Accreditation for the Adler Certificate Program in Professional Coaching, which was granted in 2002, and was reaccredited in 2006.

As the program grew and gained a reputation for excellence in coaching education, further interest from organizations resulted in Adler creating a Corporate Services group to bring the work to organizations. Our first project was to design and deliver The Positive Change: Leader as Coach program for Scotiabank in 2003, which resulted in Scotiabank Commercial Banking being awarded the prestigious Prism Award for achieving bottom line success through coaching. We continued to build relationships with major Canadian organizations providing coaching and leadership development programs to organizations such as CIBC, Export Development Canada, CanWest, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Region of Peel, to name a few.

At the same time, our programs gained notoriety across the globe which resulted in Adler renaming ourselves Adler International Learning Inc. and forging partnerships with like minded and equally committed professionals in Europe and the US. Our programs now enjoy worldwide exposure through our partners in France, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Russia, and Turkey.
